2010 Winter issue of Luxe Interiors + Design

Desert living requires a deep respect for the site and a sense of place. With sculptural forms inspired by Sonoran desert vegetation, modernist principles are blended seamlessly into this one of a kind residence.  Deep overhangs, low building profile, site integration, and solar orientation are just a few of the regional architectural lessons of this residence.

Green and passive solar design elements are used through out the residence without compromising the complexity of form or architectural spaces.  The exposed use of raw materials shows the honest balance of structure and design. The curved forms allow a natural  and organic flow of space into an essentially open plan.

The main entrance to the residence is through a series of spaces and minimalist gardens. The city view is framed by both the solid mass of the guest casita and the main residence.
